Todd Debreceni and BaPoFX are dedicated to fostering the education & artistry of Special Makeup Effects around the world. Todd has worked in film, television and theatre for over 30 years, and before turning his attention fully to special makeup effects at the beginning of the new millennium worked as a director of photography, line producer and 3D visual effects animator. Todd has worked for TBS, 20th Century-Fox Television, Warner Bros., Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Television Animation.
Todd is a past co-recipient of a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, and has received two Ovation Awards for Special Accomplishment in Makeup Effects for Theatre. His book Special Makeup Effects for Stage and Screen (Focal Press, 2008) has been hailed in the industry as the ‘Bible’ for special makeup effects artists. With a background in orthopedics and reconstructive plastic surgery, Todd’s transition into prosthetic makeup creation has been a natural evolution.
